Itinerary
DAY 1

ARRIVAL IN LIMA

Upon your arrival in Lima, the capital of Peru, you’ll be greeted by our representative at Jorge Chavez International Airport. From there, a private transfer will take you to your selected hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 2

LIMA CITY TOUR

Today, you’ll explore Lima, the “City of Kings.” Your guided tour will take you to the city’s most famous attractions, including the historical center, San Martin Square, and the iconic Plaza de Armas (505 ft or 154 m). You’ll also visit the Convent of San Francisco and its fascinating catacombs. The tour concludes in the modern district of Miraflores, where you’ll visit the Park of Love, with its panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. The entire tour lasts approximately four hours.

DAY 3

CUSCO AT YOUR LEISURE

In the morning, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco (11,152 ft or 3,399 m). Upon arriving in Cusco, you’ll have the day free to explore the city on your own, shop, and enjoy local restaurants and bars.

DAY 4

INCA TRAIL - CHILLCA TO LLAQTAPATA

Begin your Inca Trail adventure! You’ll be picked up from your hotel at 6:00 a.m. to travel to Chillca (9,514 ft or 2,900 m), the starting point of the trail. The journey will take around four hours, passing through scenic landscapes. After enjoying lunch at Piscacucho (Km 82), the trail continues through a variety of natural beauty until reaching the archaeological site of Llaqtapata (9,678 ft or 2,950 m), where you will camp for the night.

DAY 5

INCA TRAIL - LLAQTAPATA TO LLULLUCHAPAMPA

After breakfast, you’ll continue trekking along the Inca Trail, passing through the villages of Tarachayoc and Hatunchaka. The trail leads to the village of Wayllabamba (9,678 ft or 2,950 m), the last inhabited town on the Inca Trail. After lunch at Ayapata, you’ll begin the climb to Llulluchapampa (12,631 ft or 3,840 m), where you’ll set up camp for the night.

DAY 6

INCA TRAIL - LLULLUCHAPAMPA TO PUYUPATAMARCA

Today is the most challenging day, starting with the climb to the highest point of the Inca Trail at Warmiwañusca Pass (13,780 ft or 4,200 m). After a short break, you’ll descend to Pacaymayu Valley and visit the Runkurakay archaeological site. You’ll then continue to the second pass at Runkuraqay (12,959 ft or 3,950 m), where you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Urubamba and Aobamba valleys. You’ll finish the day at Puyupatamarca (11,975 ft or 3,650 m), where you’ll camp.

DAY 7

INCA TRAIL - PUYUPATAMARCA TO AGUAS CALIENTES

On the final day of trekking, you’ll descend for about three hours to the ruins of Wiñaywayna (8,858 ft or 2,700 m), an impressive Inca site with beautiful fountains. After lunch, the trail continues to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where you’ll catch your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. After spending time exploring Machu Picchu, you’ll take a bus to Aguas Calientes and catch a train back to Cusco.

  • Trekking: 5 to 7 hours
  • Distance: 6.9 miles (11 km)
  • Altitude: 7,874 ft (2,400 m)

Note: Lunch and camping spots may change depending on weather, Inca Trail regulations, and group pace.

DAY 8

FLIGHT TO LIMA

In the morning, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you to your selected hotel for your final night in Peru.

At the scheduled time, you’ll be privately transferred from your hotel to the airport for your international flight home.

What to pack for the Inca Trail 8 days tour

  • To make your trek safe and comfortable, we recommend bringing:
  • Passport – Required for the Inca Trail checkpoint and Machu Picchu entrance.
  • Inca Trail Permit & Tickets – Provided by us, but you must carry them at all times.
  • Backpack (20–30L) – Lightweight, to carry daily essentials.
  • Sleeping bag – 4-season recommended (can be rented in Cusco).
  • Hiking boots – Waterproof and well broken-in, with good ankle support.
  • Comfortable clothing – Quick-dry t-shirts, trekking pants, and thermal layers.
  • Warm jacket – Nights can be very cold, especially at high altitudes.
  • Rain gear – Poncho or waterproof jacket, especially from November to March.
