From there, we travel by private vehicle through the heart of the Sacred Valley to our ATV base near Cruzpata, where our expert guides provide a safety briefing and riding instructions to ensure a fun and comfortable experience for all participants.

Once ready, the real adventure begins. Hop on your quad bike and ride through breathtaking Andean landscapes, passing traditional farmlands, picturesque villages, and panoramic mountain scenery. This thrilling off-road experience offers a unique way to discover the Sacred Valley beyond the typical tourist routes. During the approximately 2-hour ATV ride, you’ll enjoy the freedom of exploring the countryside while surrounded by some of Peru’s most spectacular views.

Our first destination is Moray, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites of the Inca civilization. Famous for its enormous circular terraces, Moray is believed to have served as an agricultural research center where the Incas experimented with crops and microclimates. You’ll have 15 to 20 minutes to explore the site, learn about its history, and capture unforgettable photographs of this incredible engineering masterpiece.

After visiting Moray, we ride our ATVs back to the base before continuing by vehicle to the world-famous Maras Salt Mines. Here, you’ll witness more than 3,000 dazzling salt pools cascading down the mountainside, creating one of the most photogenic landscapes in Peru. Still harvested using traditional methods passed down through generations, the salt mines offer a fascinating glimpse into local culture and ancient Andean traditions.

After exploring the salt flats and enjoying their remarkable scenery, we begin our return journey to Urubamba or Ollantaytambo. Recommendations for the 1 day Sacred Valley ATV tour

If you sign up for the 1 day ATV tour Sacred Valley, get ready for a day full of adventure and culture. Remember that the trip usually starts very early, so make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before and eat something light in the morning.

Weather during the ATV tour

During the Sacred Valley ATV tour, you will travel through different altitudes and microclimates. In areas such as Cusco and Pisac, the weather is usually cool, while in the valley, temperatures can rise at midday. Maras and Moray tend to have dry winds, especially during the dry season (May to October). It is best to dress in layers so you can easily adapt to changes in temperature.

Recommendations for the ATV section

The ATV routes are exciting, but also dusty, especially during the dry season. Be prepared for wind and dust, and always follow the guide’s instructions for safe driving. Enjoy the scenery, but keep an eye on the terrain.

About the altitude of the tour

Most of the tour takes place above 2,800 meters above sea level. If you are not used to the altitude, it is recommended that you spend at least one day in Cusco beforehand to acclimatize. This will help prevent altitude sickness and keep your energy up throughout the experience.
