The Amazon rainforest has a warm, humid, and tropical climate throughout the year. Daytime temperatures usually range between 75°F and 90°F (24°C to 32°C), with high humidity levels. Because Amazon weather can change quickly, we recommend bringing lightweight clothing, sun protection, and rain gear to stay comfortable throughout the tour.
Apply insect repellent before entering the rainforest and reapply when necessary.
Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during the long excursion.
Carry a waterproof bag or dry bag to protect your camera, phone, and electronic devices during boat navigation.
Bring a camera and binoculars to enjoy better birdwatching and wildlife photography opportunities.
Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to protect yourself from the tropical sun.
Follow your guide’s instructions during wildlife observation to ensure a safe and respectful experience.
Remain quiet during boat rides and wildlife searches to increase your chances of spotting animals.
Bring extra cash for personal purchases, drinks, souvenirs, or optional tips.
Wear comfortable, lightweight, and breathable clothing suitable for the hot and humid Amazon environment. Long-sleeved shirts and lightweight long pants are highly recommended to protect your skin from insects, vegetation, and sun exposure.
Choose quick-dry fabrics and wear comfortable hiking shoes or trekking sandals suitable for walking on natural trails and boarding boats. A waterproof jacket or rain poncho is recommended, as tropical rain showers can occur unexpectedly.
To protect the fragile Amazon ecosystem and wildlife, visitors must follow responsible tourism guidelines throughout the tour. Do not feed animals, touch wildlife, remove plants or natural materials, or leave any waste in the rainforest.
Please follow the instructions of your professional guide and respect the conservation regulations established by the Tambopata National Reserve. Maintaining a respectful distance from animals helps protect their natural behavior and habitat.
The Full-Day Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick Tour involves moderate activity, including early morning travel, boat navigation, short walks, and time spent outdoors in warm and humid conditions.
Although the tour does not require advanced physical preparation, travelers should be comfortable with a long day of activities. We recommend getting enough rest before the excursion and preparing for an early departure at approximately 3:00 a.m.
Before traveling to the Amazon, consult your doctor regarding recommended health precautions, including vaccinations such as Yellow Fever, depending on your travel plans.
