Itinerary

DAY 1:

ARRIVAL IN LIMA

Arrive in Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru, where our representative will meet you at Jorge Chavez International Airport. A private transfer will take you to your selected hotel for a restful overnight stay.

  • Meals: None.

Begin your day with a hotel pick-up for a guided tour of Lima, visiting the city’s most famous attractions. You’ll explore the historical center, stopping at San Martin Square and the renowned Plaza de Armas (505 ft or 154 m). The tour includes a visit to the Convent of San Francisco and its intriguing catacombs. Next, head to Miraflores, where you’ll take in stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from the Park of Love. This four-hour tour captures the essence of Lima, blending history with modern-day life.

Afterward, you’ll be transferred to the bus terminal to board a double-decker bus bound for Ica. Upon arriving in Ica, you’ll be picked up and taken to the stunning Oasis of Huacachina (1,194 ft or 364 m), where you’ll spend the night.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

After breakfast, you’ll transfer from your hotel to Nazca (1,706 ft or 520 m), where you’ll experience an unforgettable overflight of the Nazca Lines. These mysterious geoglyphs, etched into the desert plateau, stretch across 80 kilometers between Nazca and Palpa. You’ll view more than 300 distinct figures, including stylized images of local wildlife such as the hummingbird, condor, spider (148 ft or 45 m), and lizard (590 ft or 180 m). The lines, some up to 30 meters wide, can only be truly appreciated from the air due to their sheer size.

Afterward, you’ll return to Lima by bus, with an overnight stay in the city.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

In the morning, you’ll catch a domestic flight from Lima to Cusco (11,152 ft or 3,399 m). Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred directly to the Ollantaytambo train station (9,160 ft or 2,792 m). From there, embark on a scenic train journey to Aguas Calientes (6,693 ft or 2,040 m), the gateway to Machu Picchu.

This train ride is one of the most spectacular in South America, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding jungle and mountains. Machu Picchu, hidden for centuries, sits high atop a mountain ridge. The closest town, Aguas Calientes, is nestled along the Vilcanota River and is only a short bus ride from the ruins. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your selected hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

Early in the morning, take a 20-minute bus ride up the steep, zigzagging road to Machu Picchu (7,972 ft or 2,430 m). From there, hike up to Huayna Picchu (8,920 ft or 2,720 m), also known as Wayna Picchu, which towers over the ancient site. Only 200 visitors are allowed each day to climb this trail, which leads to temples and terraces built by the Incas at the summit.

After the hike, explore Machu Picchu itself with a guided tour. Highlights include the Temple of the Moon, the Great Cavern, the Temple of the Condor, the Sacred Sun Dial, and the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), which offers stunning views over the citadel.

Spend the night in Aguas Calientes after a full day of exploration.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

In the afternoon, catch the train back to Cusco. Depending on your schedule, you’ll depart either at 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival in Cusco, you’ll be transferred to your selected hotel for the night.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

Today is yours to explore Cusco at your own pace. Stroll through the streets, visit local markets, or relax in one of the city’s many charming cafés. You can also visit the San Blas artisan district, the Temple of Koricancha, or nearby ruins such as Sacsayhuamán, Qenko, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay (12,139 ft or 3,700 m).

  • Meals: Breakfast.

At the indicated time, you’ll be transferred to Cusco Airport for your flight back to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, you’ll receive assistance for your international flight back home.
