DAY 1

ARRIVAL IN LIMA

Upon arriving in Lima, the capital of Peru, you will be welcomed by our representative at Jorge Chavez International Airport. A private transfer will take you to your selected hotel, where you will spend the night, allowing you to rest and prepare for the adventures ahead.

DAY 2

LIMA CITY TOUR - BUS TO PARACAS

Start your day with a guided tour of Lima, visiting the city’s most iconic sites. You’ll explore the historical center, including San Martin Square, the famous Plaza de Armas (505 ft or 154 m), and the Convent of San Francisco with its impressive catacombs. The tour continues to the modern Miraflores district, where you’ll visit the Park of Love, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. The city tour lasts about four hours.

Afterward, you’ll be transferred to the bus terminal for a double-decker bus ride to Paracas Bay, known for its beautiful coastal views.

DAY 3

BALLESTAS ISLANDS - PARACAS NATIONAL RESERVE

Begin the day with a boat tour to the Ballestas Islands, often called the “Peruvian Galápagos.” These rocky islands, located off the coast of Paracas, are home to an incredible array of wildlife. You’ll spot birds like cormorants, pelicans, seagulls, and vultures, as well as Humboldt penguins, sea lions, and even dolphins. This 90-minute excursion offers a unique glimpse into one of the world’s most diverse ecosystems.

Next, you’ll visit the Paracas National Reserve, a haven for marine life and birds. The reserve covers 335,000 hectares, with 35% on land and 65% in the sea. It’s famous for its cold waters, which support a rich array of plankton, fish, and other sea creatures. The area is also home to archaeological sites and the stunning desert landscapes of Paracas. You’ll explore beaches like La Mina, Mendieta, and Lagunillas, where you can enjoy the natural beauty and maybe even try some sport fishing.

Later, return to Lima by bus, where you’ll spend the night.

DAY 4

CUSCO AT YOUR LEISURE

This morning, you’ll head to the airport for a flight to Cusco (11,152 ft or 3,399 m). After landing, a private transfer will take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, acclimatize, and explore the ancient city of Cusco at your own pace.

DAY 5

SACRED VALLEY TOUR

Today, you’ll explore the Sacred Valley (9,186 ft or 2,800 m), a region once crucial to the Incas for its fertile lands and mild climate. You’ll depart early for Pisaq (9,514 ft or 2,900 m), an important Incan archaeological site where you’ll spend about two hours. The tour continues through small villages like Coya, Lamay, and Calca as you follow the Vilcanota River toward Urubamba (9,420 ft or 2,871 m), where you’ll stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit Ollantaytambo (9,160 ft or 2,792 m), a well-preserved Inca town with impressive ruins. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the site, learning about its history and significance.

DAY 6

TRAIN JOURNEY TO MACHU PICCHU

The day begins with a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes (6,693 ft or 2,040 m), the gateway to Machu Picchu. This journey offers spectacular views of the jungle and towering Andean peaks. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your selected hotel in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 7

MACHU PICCHU & HUAYNA PICCHU

Start your day with a bus ride up the narrow, zigzagging road to Machu Picchu (7,972 ft or 2,430 m). From here, you’ll hike to Huayna Picchu (8,920 ft or 2,720 m), also known as Wayna Picchu, which towers above the ancient city. This challenging trail leads to temples and terraces that the Incas built at the summit. Access is limited to 200 people each day.

After the hike, explore the sacred ruins of Machu Picchu with a guided tour. You’ll visit key sites, including the Temple of the Moon, the Great Cavern, the Temple of the Condor, and the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where the rising sun shines perfectly through the stone passage.

In the afternoon, take the train back to Cusco, where you’ll spend the night.

  • Paracas: Known for its sunny weather, Paracas has temperatures ranging from 18°C to 28°C (64°F to 82°F). Coastal winds can make it feel cooler in the evenings.
  • Sacred Valley and Cusco: These regions experience a high-altitude climate. Cusco (3,399 m / 11,152 ft) has cool mornings and evenings with daytime temperatures between 12°C to 20°C (54°F to 68°F). The Sacred Valley is a bit warmer, ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), with cooler nights. The rainy season runs from November to March, so be prepared for showers if you’re traveling during that period.
  • Machu Picchu: The Machu Picchu area has a subtropical climate with temperatures between 18°C and 24°C (64°F to 75°F). It can rain throughout the year, especially in the afternoon.

Altitude Acclimatization
