Itinerary

DAY 1:

ARRIVAL IN LIMA

You’ll land in Lima, the capital of Peru, where our representative will meet you at Jorge Chavez International Airport. From there, you’ll have a private transfer to your chosen hotel for a restful night.

  • Meals: None.

Begin your day with a hotel pick-up for a guided tour of Lima, also known as the “City of Kings.” You’ll explore key landmarks, including the historic downtown, San Martin Square, and the iconic Plaza de Armas (505 ft or 154 m). A visit to the Convent of San Francisco and its eerie catacombs is also part of the tour. Moving forward, you’ll head to the modern Miraflores district, where you’ll visit the Park of Love, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The entire city tour lasts about four hours.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

An early transfer will take you to the airport for a domestic flight to Cusco (11,152 ft or 3,399 m). Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up and brought to your hotel to begin your exploration of the Imperial City of Cusco. Start with a visit to Plaza San Cristóbal (11,125 ft or 3,391 m) for a panoramic view of the city. Then, head to the bustling San Pedro Market, followed by a stop at the Temple of Koricancha, a stunning example of Inca architecture.

Continue your tour with a visit to the Church of Santo Domingo, built on ancient Inca walls. In the San Blas artisan district, you’ll walk down Hatun Rumiyoc Street to see the famous twelve-angled stone. The day also includes a stop at Plaza de Armas (11,152 ft or 3,399 m), once the most important Incan square, and the impressive Cathedral.

Beyond Cusco, you’ll visit Sacsayhuamán (12,142 ft or 3,701 m), an impressive fortress offering scenic views. Other nearby sites include the religious center of Qenqo, the military tower of Puca Pucará (12,631 ft or 3,850 m), and the water temple of Tambomachay (12,139 ft or 3,700 m), known for its beautiful fountains.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

Today, you’ll head out to explore the Sacred Valley (9,186 ft or 2,800 m), a region famous for its temperate climate and fertile lands. Your first stop will be the archaeological site of Pisaq (9,514 ft or 2,900 m), where you’ll spend around two hours. From there, you’ll pass through small villages like Coya, Lamay, and Calca as you travel along the Vilcanota River.

Arriving in Urubamba (9,420 ft or 2,871 m) around noon, you’ll have lunch at a buffet restaurant (not included in the tour). Afterward, you’ll visit Ollantaytambo (9,160 ft or 2,792 m), an Incan town with impressive ruins, where a guided tour will give you deeper insight into the history of the region.

In the afternoon, board a train bound for Aguas Calientes (6,693 ft or 2,040 m), also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, nestled deep in the jungle.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

Your day begins with a short bus ride to the ruins of Machu Picchu (7,972 ft or 2,430 m), followed by a hike to Wayna Picchu (8,920 ft or 2,720 m), also called “Young Peak.” This steep climb, which is limited to just 200 visitors daily, leads to ancient temples and terraces built by the Incas. The summit is believed to have been the residence of high priests and local virgins.

At sunrise, a small group, led by the high priest, would descend from Wayna Picchu to signal the start of a new day at Machu Picchu. You’ll also visit the Temple of the Moon, located lower on the mountain, and other key sites such as the Great Cavern, the Temple of the Condor, and the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).

After the tour, return to Cusco by train, with evening transfers to your hotel.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

Today, you’ll make your way from the Andean highlands to the Amazon Rainforest. After a flight from Cusco to Iquitos (328 ft or 100 m), you’ll be greeted by our local representative and transferred to your selected hotel. Spend the night in Iquitos, ready to explore the jungle the next day.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

Start your adventure along the Amazon River with a 3-hour boat ride that covers 87 miles (140 km) upriver from Iquitos. Upon arrival at your jungle lodge, you’ll settle into your bungalow and receive an introduction to the local wildlife. A buffet lunch will be served before heading out on a boat trip to Lake Sapote, where you’ll observe various bird species, including kingfishers, cormorants, and horned screamers. At Moena Lagoon, you’ll see monkeys such as dusky titi monkeys and night monkeys.

After watching the sunset, you’ll return to the lodge. In the evening, embark on a nighttime boat ride to spot caimans and other nocturnal animals.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Today’s adventure starts with a hike in the jungle, where you’ll see a wide variety of plant life, including the Uncaria tomentosa (cat’s claw), a plant said to have medicinal properties. Along the way, you’ll also encounter the giant ceiba tree and several species of monkeys, including the world’s smallest, the pygmy marmoset.

Next, try your hand at artisanal fishing for piranhas on the Purura and Corrientes lakes. You’ll also see the strange and colorful hoatzin bird, often found perched on strangler vines. At night, take a walk to search for frogs, tarantulas, and possibly anacondas.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

A boat ride on the Amazon River offers you the unique opportunity to swim in the same waters where pink and gray dolphins live. Although you can’t touch them, spotting these majestic creatures is a highlight of the day. On the return to the lodge, you’ll see Victoria Regia, the world’s largest aquatic plant, and iguanas basking in the sun.

Later, you’ll return to Iquitos and be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Lima. Once in Lima, you’ll be taken to your hotel.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

At the scheduled time, you’ll be transferred privately to the airport in Lima for your international flight home.
